Video Update
Admittedly not a hugely eventful week or so, but worth a catch up anyways!
Progress on Sky Attack continues and has even picked up pace since completing the “Bomb” section which was both laborious and time consuming, not least because of the render times on previews. The “Bomber” layer is going much quicker and is more fun in general as there’s more room for improvisation and already the early stages of this section are bring it all together.
Once that’s complete, there are just a couple of things I’m considering adding before mixing in with the live action footage, they are: a countdown timer, a more defined background and perhaps a moving travellator type thing. It’s a tad cheeky but I’m hoping to get it released in time for Tron Legacy as it’s a nice little tie in!
In other news our Animal Appeal Sketch got screened at Popcorn as part of Birmingham Comedy Festival in front of an appreciative audience, which is always encouraging. Looking forward to working with the Dice guys again on some of their other scripts.
Also as part of the Comedy Fest, I went to see Great Brain Robbery perform over in the Jewellery Quarter – they put on an excellent evening for us and I gather the rest of their tour is going even better. I got to have a chat with Justin after the show and tells me post-production on It’s Natural to Be Afraid is going well, and even better, the short film he did for selfharm.co.uk for which I provided a soundtrack is likely to have a national television screening soon, so fingers crossed for that!
On a slight downer, I’ve been having trouble getting comments to work on my website, but hope to amend this soon. In the mean time, if anyone wishes to comment or ask any questions, just nip on over to the contact page and give me a shout.
Bye for now!
